Hebburn Town Juniors FC are making headlines again as they have been shortlisted for two awards at this years Shields Gazette Sponsored “Pride of South Tyneside Awards”
We have been shortlisted for the
– Sports Team of the Year Award
– Lifetime Contribution Award
This is the second year running we have reached the shortlist, in 2014 we were voted winners of the “Sporting Excellence Award” and club chairman Stephen Rutherford is hoping we can go on and win another.
Stephen commented “To be nominated by members of the public who recognise what we as a club do for the young children of Hebburn and South Tyneside overall is fantastic, we are a voluntary run club with 65 coaches who dedicate a lot of time to promote development of children aged 4 years to 21 years of age in football. Reaching the shortlist of the Pride of South Tyneside Awards for the second year running is a huge achievement in itself, I really hope we can go on and pick up at least one of the awards as it will be recognition for everyone who supports the club whom without them we wouldn’t be what we are today”
The black tie finale awards evening will be held on Thursday 25th June at The Quality Hotel in Boldon where Stephen and the exec committee will join other shortlist contenders hoping to scoop the prize
Keep your fingers crossed everyone.
