New U7's Teams (Tuesday group)

Majority of the new u7 kids were at training last night at the 3G, however there were a few missing for whatever reason. As shared at the session we have a mini round robin this Saturday 22nd March at the  3G for these players. The managers will be discussing and sorting the team split on Thursday and we ask all players (38 of them) arrive at Clegwell (red building) no later than 11.30am on Saturday. The coaches will split the teams as mentioned previously into three squads and hand out HTJFC strips for them to keep for the season. Please ensure they bring the correct footwear, shin guards warm overcoat/top and plenty of drinks. Also as we'll be at the 3G for a few hours we recommend you bring some snacks.
See you all on Saturday.
thanks
the u7 coaching team

Important Notice re Hot Drinks

Can we just remind everyone that hot or fizzy drinks are not allowed within the 3g playing area at Clegwell.

We have noticed some parents with hot drinks while inside the fenced area when kids are training. Please don't do this as it is not only against the policy for 3g users, it is also a health and safety issue.

Attention Hebburn Asda shoppers

Hi All,

No it’s not a bag pack!!!!! JJJ

It’s something less strenuous  and easy..basically If anyone shops in the Asda store in Hebburn Shopping Centre then during the month of March when you’ve been served please ask for a few GREEN TOKENS for the charities board.

On your way out and on the right handside you’ll notice a section highlighted as “Asda Local Community”, I’ve managed to get the club as one of these groups, the object of the game is to get as many shoppers to put these green tokens into your allocated box, the group with the most green tokens at the end of the month wins a cash donation maximum £100 per month..

We have over 800 adults as part of our club, granted not everyone shops at asda, but pass the message on and get those greens tokens into the Hebburn Town Juniors FC slot..

Thanks

Stephen

Chairman

Gareth Southgate Masterclass - Creative Attacking Play

Gareth Southgate was appointed England U21s Head Coach in August 2013. During his period in charge of the Young Lions, the former Middlesbrough manager has overseen England’s qualification for the 2015 U21 European Championship’s in the Czech Republic - winning five and drawing one of six qualification games.

At December’s FA Licensed Coaches’ Club conference the former England defender provided an insight into the coaching methods used with the U21 squad and how this approach to practice will be adopted by all England’s youth teams.

In this five part FA Licensed Coaches’ Club Masterclass series Southgate focuses on creative attacking play and breaking down a compact defence.

The focus of part one of the Masterclass is a possession practice in restricted space challenging the players to play through tight areas with the aim of releasing an attacking player into one of the end zones.

Watch part one of Gareth's Masterclass below:

Watch Video

Part two of Gareth's Masterclass session will follow.

Futsal Update

So far we have a 3 successful 'taster' sessions for HTJ lads. The U6, U7, U11, U12 & U13 teams have all been represented.
Everyone who has taken part has loved it...especially the 'samba beat' produced by Alan 'snake hips' Parker and his Latin beat.

The next session is this Friday and teams will be confirmed soon from U8 and U9 teams.

Here are few photo's from the last session which was the U11 and U12 teams.

Big Thanks

All the HTJ coaches who attended the Youth Module 1 course over the last couple of weekends would like to say a big thank you to Andy Lowe and Robbie Pringle for giving a very informative and enjoyable course...great stuff.

Why HTJ is a great club - what a game

During the week Rossy (U13 Oranges coach) told me he was struggling to get the Oranges game on Saturday and asked me if I could help out. Like any HTJ coach would I said "yes".
Anyway Saturday morning came and I felt awful...man flu definitely kicking in. I went to the U13 Whites semi final and was gutted to see them just lose out after creating enough chances to win 2 or 3 games, never mind one.
After trying to console the lads I headed towards the Oranges game.
I bumped into Brian Stewart (U13 Greens coach) out on his bike. "Have you seen the Oranges lads over there", "yeah, they are just turning up now".
Brian turned his bike round and headed over with me.
When I got there I started to get the lads together and seen that Brian was talking to a few parents. "Howay Bri lad, gis a hand warming them up"...even though he wasn't 'kitted up' he helped me warm the lads up and we managed to sort the starting line up out with the help of the lads.
This game was going to be a really hard affair, the opposition were Whiteleas, top of the league with a 100% win record. The Oranges were hanging around the bottom of the league.

The game got underway and both teams played really good committed football. At half time it was still 0-0...and Brian who had only been passing by on his bike was still there helping me, encouraging the lads all the way.
The second half got underway and Whiteleas took the lead. Now normally you would expect the league leaders to storm away with the game. This didn't happen and the Oranges kept battling away deservedly equalizing and then taking a 2-1 lead...guess what...Brian was still there.
The game continued, all the time with me moaning on about my man flu and Brian still there helping the lads out. Against the run of play Whiteleas scored an equalizer with about 30 seconds to go. A 2-2 draw was still a cracking result for the Oranges.

It just goes to show that HTJ gets into your blood...because the last 3 people left at the pitch getting the nets down were me, moaning about my man flu, Brian and his son Kai.

Firslty well done to the Oranges, great perfomance and result.
Next cheers to young Kai for helping put the nets and corner flags away, etc.
Next a massive "Cheers' to Brian for all his help...if you had just peddled past me you could have been sat in the house with a nice warm cup of tea.

BTW, Brian then headed off carrying the nets and going to do some coaching on the 3g for the 'Mash up' session...dedication without a doubt.

... Norm (u13 whites coach)

URGENT - Parents or coaches - we need squad photos

As the title states we need squad photos of all mini soccer, that's 5, 7 or 9 a side teams as soon as you can.

Coaches are usually quite busy so why don't some of you parents try and organise these.
Why not take a few...a good 'proper' one and maybe a one where the kids are all pulling faces would be good.

Chairmans Blog Tuesday 4th March

FRUSTRATED, is probably the best word to sum up the period of time since my last blog update, frustrated that as a club we've missed some opportunities, frustrated that we've identified some floors in our communication process, frustrated that as a club we are taking for granted by some, so when I attend a friends get together, the irony in being asked if I want a game of "shut the box" which is probably one of the most frustrating but addictive games known to a competitive person was just the tonic I needed. For those wanting to know what "shut the box" is, well it's a simple game involving two dice a specially designed wooden box with 9 wooden numbered blocks that flip over, the object of the game is to flip all 9 blocks and "shut the box", for those intrigued we'll have this at The mOObs event, I'm sure we'll raise a few pounds for the club with it!!!!

I'm pleased to say we've another 12 coaches attending the Youth Module 1 coaching course over the first two weekends in March, raising our YM qualified coaches to 34 (50% of our coaching volunteers), this is a great credit to our coaches commitment and the clubs vision to offer the best coaching to its players.
Preparations are ongoing for our clubs "Respect The Game" week which will be held over the week commencing 17th-21st March, we've got a few themes to cover, but after watching Match of the Day over the weekend we are sending an open invitation to NUFC manager Alan Pardew to join us, surely an invite from English FA Grassroots Club of the Year 2013, a club pretty much on his doorstep and one that supports and promotes Respect would be a great opportunity for him to give something back to the amateur game whilst hopefully educating himself and understanding what impact his actions have to the young players observing such behavior, I hope you read this Alan, get in touch to get this arranged!!!
It'd be rude not to mention the other premiership team in the North East SAFC, who over the weekend gained better headlines for the League Cup Final they participated in, although when watching on the TV a minor miracle when Borinni scored was on the cards, reality of what money in the professional game does these days spoke volumes, two world class goals sealed the win for City..imagine if only 1% of those 22 players playing at wembley could be donated to a grassroots club like ours!!! Back to my dreaming phase again...Oh know did I just pinch the SAFC slogan from the weekend D:ream!!! Ha adios for now and catch up next time chairman over and out
