Boxing Day Dip 2013

This is a BRRRRRRiliant fundraising event for the club and one we have participated in for the past 4 years.

As always any money we raise we split 50/50 with St Clare’s Hospice (Jarrow), previous years has seen the club donate anywhere between £700-£1000 to St Clare’s which is a superb way to not just support our own club but also the local community.

We will be handing out sponsorship forms at the next committee meeting (3rd December) but will need to gain and understanding of how many and who will be participating as there are specific forms to complete before we run into the North Sea.

Please share this and try to get as much support as you possibly can.

Logistics for the event, we need to meet for 11am and register names on the day with the dip happening at 12 noon.

HTJ Win Yet Another Award

The good news just keeps on coming for HTJ.

To follow our national grassroots award from the FA we have now been given another prestigious award.
Durham FA have awarded the club with 'Charter Standard Club of the Year 2013'.

This is a great achievement and a huge bonus to everyone connected with HTJ. So committee members, coaches, players, parents, family members and supporters all take a bow...we have all won this award.

HTJ Original Makes International Debut

HTJ were proud to hear that one of it's very own sons has just played a game for the Wales national side.
Joe Ames who is currently an U12 player was in the side with other players from Man U, Everton and Liverpool. They played a game against Wrexham academy U14s.

Joe has been a member of HTJ since he was 4. Although academy committments restrict his appearances for us now he still comes along to watch his mates play when he can.
Joes family have always been big supporters of the club and still help with sponsorship whenever possible.

Well done Joe...we are all proud of you.

Brilliant work

Message from the Chairman...

"It was a brilliant effort on Saturday at Sunderland.
After deducting the cost of the 100 buckets we had to purchase, I am proud and privileged to announce we made a profit of £3500...brilliant.
Many thanks to Sunderland AFC and there magnificent supporters.

A huge well done to all the volunteers, kids, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters all helped out. It brought a lump to my throat seeing all the HTJ colours at the stadium.

This club is all about community and friends. You all make me feel so privileged to be the chairman".

New version of website - possible glitches

Here at HTJ Technology department we have always had an issue with the fact our website was not fully compatible with Apple products, ipads etc.

We are now in the process of upgrading the site to be available on all formats.

Please bear with us if some functions are not working correctly at the minute.

One issue we know we will have is if you want to send us something through the site, be it an enquiry or an order for the club shop, etc.

Bucket collection this Saturday

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BUCKET COLLECTION AT STADIUM OF LIGHT ON SATURDAY.

Can all volunteers please meet outside the Stadium of Light ticket office (just outside the ground) for 1pm on Saturday.

Steve (Mr Chairman) and Davie Sewell will be there with the collection buckets. Volunteer names will be taken and you'll be given a turnstile/s to stand outside to start collection.

It's important if you are planning on going inside SOL to watch match after collection you notify Steve & Dave upon giving your name of the turnstile you'll be entering ground at but also so that they can organise for your bucket to be collected before you enter ground.

All those that are not watching match are to return to meeting point outside ticket office with (Hopefully FULL Buckets) :)

Can all players wear HTJFC black and yellow strips, coaches wear coaches kits/tracksuits and all other people if you have black and yellow then please wear it.

Let's hope this is another fantastic money raiser for the club

To get to the ground you have several options

-          Driving and parking nearby at Tesco’s or McDonalds and walking the short distance to the ground
-          Metro to Stadium of Light or St Peters stations and walking short distance to ground

Due to the timing after the collection people will watch the match or go about their own business, the club will not be hosting anything at the sports ground afterwards

The good news just keeps coming

We are pleased to announce that Hebburn Town Juniors FC have been awarded the status of FA Charter Standard Community Club.

"2013 has so far been a remarkable year in the progress of Hebburn Town Juniors FC. Not only have we grown in the number of teams we have, our coaches have developed their coaching capabilities through hard work and dedication, we were awarded The FA Grassroots Club of the Year. I have just been informed our application to become a Community Charter Standard Club has been accepted.
This means HTJFC really does stand out from the crowd in South Tyneside. This award means that as a club we have to continue to strive to be better and offer the best coaching and facilities we can thus ensuring a progression path for all of our players from the young age of 4 years right through to 21 years.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication from everyone associated with the club, it really is really amazing the year we have had in 2013 so I hope as we move towards 2014 we can continue this great progression"

Steve - Chairman.

Congratulations - Brilliant news for HTJ

Our clubs policy of putting the development of the kids ahead of win at all costs attitudes has just reaped some more rewards.

Three of our U7 lads, Fegus McMenamin, Charlie Mole and Charlie Gallagher have all been called into Middlesbrough Development Centre.

A massive well done to the lads, all of the lads they play, all of the coaches concerned and the parents for there support.
The club are proud of you all.

Keep up the good work everyone and we will all make sure kids playing for HTJ enjoy there football and develop to the best of there ability.

Great Opportunity for HTJ

Great News, the club have been successful in their application in gaining permission from Sunderland City Council and Northumbria Police to hold a bucket collection outside Sunderland’s Stadium of Light Ground on a match day, this is a great opportunity to help the club raise funds and to help towards our National Tournament in 2014.

The match chosen by the council for us to collect is Sunderland v Arsenal on Saturday 14th September 3pm KO.

We're awaiting final details from the council and Northumbria police but we believe we’ll be to spend approx 1.5 hrs outside the ground (one person per turnstile and a few people floating around the outer parts of the rounds) before the match KO’s at 3pm.

These opportunities come very rarely to grassroots clubs and therefore we need to ensure we are fully prepared and organised for the day. The idea is for us to cover all of the turnstiles on the day, majority of them are what you’d call “Double Turnstiles” and ideal for one child/adult to stand in the middle with a bucket, whilst we also have a few on the outer areas of the stadium asking for donations from the Sunderland Faithful.

Needless to say we need lots of willing volunteers (both adults and children) to maximise this opportunity, therefore please spread the word amongst your teams and get back to me/Dave Sewell by end of August with volunteer names.

All children volunteering will need to wear their HTJFC strip on the day and any parents if they have any HTJFC gear (Hoodies/Tops/T-shirts) if they could wear them that would be great.

We appreciate that SAFC are at home and a lot of you will be attending the match but if you could spare time beforehand to support it’d be very much appreciated.

Ordering process

We just thought we would explain why some orders for training gear seem to take longer than others.
This is the typical process:

  • You send in an order via our website

  • We send order off to our supplier, Bolams

  • They order gear with supplier, Joma. Usually this is done on a Monday, so if you send us an order late on a Monday evening it can be a full week before it is actually ordered.
  • After the gear is delivered by Joma it is then sent to have badge embroidered. This process has a minimum number of items, so some items may be held back until enough items are ready.

  • After being embroidered the items are returned to Bolams then any printing that is needed is done.

  • Usually once the items are ready Norm the 'dogsbody' goes and collects them.

As you can see this can take a while. We would advise anyone if you are thinking of ordering anything do it as quickly as you can.
Hope this helps.

Under 8s Treble Delight

The U8 Blues have followed up winning their division in the Russell Foster Winter League by finishing top of their recent Cup Division. The Blues have now finished top of both League and Cup in their 1st season in the Russell Foster Youth league.

The lads have been a credit putting in outstanding performances on a regular basis and having played against 16 different teams none of which the team had ever played against before.

Most pleasing aspect in the recent Cup was the brilliant defensive displays – the team conceded only 6 goals in 16 games and kept 10 clean sheets.

The lads move up to Under 9s in June 2013 full of confidence – well done lads !!!
