Any HTJ going to Wembley this weekend?
Send us any photo's or indeed any stories about your trip this weekend.
Why not take a HTJ scarf with you and get some good photos to put on the website.
We are trying to arrange for some HTJ players to meet somewhere on Wembley way at about 12:30 to get a group photo done...get in touch with Norm Gray if you want to be in it.

Chairmans Bog - Wednesday 19th February 2014
VOLUNTEER - any activity that involves spending time, unpaid, doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone (individuals or groups). Central to this definition is the fact that volunteering must be a choice freely made by each individual.
I thought I’d start with the wonderful definition of a common word, why you may ask?, well it’s a word associated with every individual in our club who supports our cause. Committee, coaches, treasurers, social committee to name but a few. All of the people who volunteer within HTJFC do a fantastic job and although I tell them all of the time what really is fulfilling is that they shrug off the praise and say “we do it because we love it and the club”. What a fantastic bunch of people, eh, there’s not many organisations that have almost 100 volunteers who each week give up on average 5hrs each per week, so doing the math in total that’s 500 hrs per week, 2000 hrs a months and a whopping 24,000 hours per year on average VOLUNTEERING FOR HTJFC...WHAT A CLUB... J
Other stuff that’s been going on in my world this week, firstly pulling a calf muscle isn’t the best thing to do, quite painful actually!!,l we’ve booked this year’s “Respect the game week”, sold out our mOObs event tickets, so a MASSIVE 250 guests will enjoy a great night by the local band fronted by David Mole, our sportsman dinner event in April with Paul Merson has sold 200 tickets, this is our first dinner hosting event but to sell that amount of tickets is great (still 50 or so tickets left if anyone wants one). The two funding forms I mentioned in my last blog were complete and sent, crikey me, did i underestimate what you need to do to complete one of these!!! Definitely on the delegation list the next time, anyway they are submitted and i hope the hard work pays off. A constant over the past week or should i actually say the past month is the weather, we’ve had biblical rain which has pretty much wiped out the football calendar on our grass pitches, the back-log of fixtures mounting up and mid-week games in April/May a certainty, it raises the hot topic about 3G pitches, should they be used and more of them installed, well my view is YES, the access we have to Clegwell 3G is superb and for me it’s the future, I just wish we could take it over full time to offer our teams more in terms of training and matches, I continue to live in hope on this dream, we are still a relatively young club but definitely going in the right direction, who knows this time next year we could be MILLIONAIRE’s (all you oldies reading this will know what classic British sitcom that line’s from).
So I sign off from this week’s blog with another great phrase from the same sitcom, after writing this blog for the first time but then a) forgetting to have the lap-top battery charger plugged in, thus the battery life dying until dead DOH! and b) not saving my first blog attempt, thus losing everything I originally typed, this version is therefore my second attempt!!!!!!! So feels appropriate to say “STEPHEN YOU PLONKER”

WE NEED YOU - Urgent help needed
We have been fortunate enough to be given permission to do a 'bag pack' at Asda in Boldon.
The one restriction we have is kids must be 13 or over.
We need volunteers for Saturday 1st March...kids and adults.
Please let your manager know or send an email to admin@hebburntownjuniorsfc.co.uk.
We are looking to cover about 6 hours but don't worry if you can only manage a couple, that will be fine as we will try to do it in shifts.

Chairmans Blog...I said "Blog" - Tuesday 11th Feb 2014
After numerous requests from our web master Norman I’ve eventually give in and agreed to write a regular blog for the club, in the blog I’ll try and keep it brief informative and hopefully being me add a little humour, hopefully you’ll access it and read it through our new club app (there’s a plug if I’ve ever written one)
As I sit typing the Euromillions results flash up on the TV, I check my ticket in anticipation, dreaming what I could do with the money after Mrs R and the rest of the family are sorted, New house (Club House that is), New car (Club mini Bus), New garden (our own 3G pitch), make sure my mates are ok (full time coaching jobs for life for HTJFC), Hebburn Town being the greatest grassroots club in the UK....I then swiftly come back to reality as the dog let’s one go, the living room stinks, doors and windows open and my losing Euromillions ticket in the bin.
One can still dream though and a lot people often laugh, but these dreams create desire, willingness and ultimately a never say die attitude that drives me to make sure I do the best job I can for our club. I have a great team that work with me and no doubt future blog entries will mention some of the stuff we do behind the scenes in the club...watch this space..
In the meantime Friday’s Euromillions ticket will be bought tomorrow and another pray said for me to win (fingers crossed for me)
We have some cracking events coming up in the next couple of months, my blog will reference these but here’s a starter for 10
- Clubs “Respect Week”
- The Moobs Social Evening Thank you event
- Mini Soccer Presentation day
- Sportsman Dinner with Paul Merson
Tomorrow brings a trip to London for my paid job (i know a lot of you don’t believe i have a paid job due to the amount of e-mails and texts i send but contrary to belief i do) and on the journey completing some funding request forms for the club will fill some down time on the flight.
Adios until the next update #black and yellow J

Russell Foster Sunday Leagues - Clean sweep of wins
What a day Sunday was for HTJ in the RF Sunday leagues.
The U13 Hornets grab the headlines after a hard fought 3-2 win to go top of the Premier league. The win was against 'high end' opposition in Lambton Lions.
In the U13 Division 1 the Wasps recorded a resounding 5-0 win over Wearside Boys.
The U12 Hornets had a tight game to maintain 2nd place in the Premier League. Winning 3-2 away to Easington District Milan.
The U15s also kept 2nd spot in the league. This time with a 3-2 away win at Leam Rangers.
The U16s also had a good away win. This time winning 3-1 at Seaham Town.
Well done to everyone concerned as these wins all come with good football being the main priority.
