To All Parents and HTJ Coaches

As a club Hebburn Town Juniors FC strives to be the best at everything we do, we want to stand out from the rest of the crowd and continue to continuously improve where we can. With this “Can Do” attitude the club have committed to focusing on its coaching staff over the next 12-18 months, how we hear you ask?

Well to become a coach with HTJFC or any grassroots voluntary football organisation coaches must complete the basic coaching qualification “FA First For Sport Level 1 Coaching in Football”, this award gives wannabe coaches the basics of child protection, first aid and of course fun friendly games to help develop the children, many coaches  in other clubs complete this but then don’t progress any further, however within HTJFC we believe that coaches need to challenge themselves especially as they move through the age groups with their teams from U7 to U18, because realistically although there are some fundamental basics to coaching that are relevant to every age group it’s essential that coaches adapt the coaching to suit the age group they are managing.

This is where as a club we’ve stepped in with the support of the FA, there are new “Age appropriate Courses” for coaching under the guidance of Youth Module Coaching, they are made up of 3 courses, modules 1 through to 3 and they focus on age appropriate coaching techniques. HTJFC have committed to ensuring ALL its 65 coaches go through a development plan and by mid 2015 all of our coaching staff will be Youth Module 1 accredited (minimum) and we’ll continue to progress the learning for those coaches who want to go further and do YM2, YM3 and so on. We’ve been reliably advised that by doing this HTJFC will be the “ONLY CLUB” in the country to have all of its coaches qualified to a minimum of YM1, thus allowing us to “STAND OUT FROM THE REST” and ensuring we are giving the best possible football coaching to your children.

It’s a great move by the club and we appreciate the level of commitment from our coaches to join this journey,

U12 & U13 RFYL Sunday Leagues - This weekends fixtures

In the U12 Premier Division the Hornets have a home game against the team directly above them in the league, Hetton Juniors. Hetton were 1-0 winners the last time these sides met, so the Hornets will be looking to reverse the outcome and leap frog there opponents in the division.

The U13 Wasps travel to West Auckland Juniors and home to come back with the spoils. The last time these teams met the Wasps came out on top 2-1 in a close game.

Did you know: West Auckland Town AFC have a unique history - they are double World Cup winners! In 1909 and 1911 the mining side travelled the lenghty and expensive journey to Italy and beat their club opponents to win the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy, also dubbed football's first World Cup.
