Great Opportunity for HTJ

Great News, the club have been successful in their application in gaining permission from Sunderland City Council and Northumbria Police to hold a bucket collection outside Sunderland’s Stadium of Light Ground on a match day, this is a great opportunity to help the club raise funds and to help towards our National Tournament in 2014.

The match chosen by the council for us to collect is Sunderland v Arsenal on Saturday 14th September 3pm KO.

We're awaiting final details from the council and Northumbria police but we believe we’ll be to spend approx 1.5 hrs outside the ground (one person per turnstile and a few people floating around the outer parts of the rounds) before the match KO’s at 3pm.

These opportunities come very rarely to grassroots clubs and therefore we need to ensure we are fully prepared and organised for the day. The idea is for us to cover all of the turnstiles on the day, majority of them are what you’d call “Double Turnstiles” and ideal for one child/adult to stand in the middle with a bucket, whilst we also have a few on the outer areas of the stadium asking for donations from the Sunderland Faithful.

Needless to say we need lots of willing volunteers (both adults and children) to maximise this opportunity, therefore please spread the word amongst your teams and get back to me/Dave Sewell by end of August with volunteer names.

All children volunteering will need to wear their HTJFC strip on the day and any parents if they have any HTJFC gear (Hoodies/Tops/T-shirts) if they could wear them that would be great.

We appreciate that SAFC are at home and a lot of you will be attending the match but if you could spare time beforehand to support it’d be very much appreciated.
